Our Vision
Spirit-led.
As a church, we desire to be led not by human desires or aspirations but by the Spirit of the living God. When we allow the Holy Spirit to lead and empower our ministry, we find that He is capable of so much more than we expect or imagine. (Romans 8:14, Galatians 5:25)
Family.
The Bible describes the church as a family. Not only has Jesus death and resurrection made us right with God, but we have been adopted as His children. This means that fellow believers are our brothers and sisters. We want Resurrection Church to be a place where people are known, loved, encouraged, and strengthened in the love of Jesus. (Rom 12:10-13, Eph 5:1-2)
Christ-followers.
Jesus came to earth with a radical invitation to die to ourselves and follow Him. As a church, we are united in our desire to follow Jesus in our worship, our service, our generosity, and our lives. We want to be known not for the human leaders that we follow, but in following the King of Kings. In becoming more like Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can experience the abundant life that only Jesus can provide (Matt 16:24, John 10:10)
Our Values
God Gets the Glory
Everything that Resurrection Church does is meant to bring glory to God, not to ourselves. God is the reason our church exists, and we operate only by His power; so it makes sense that He receives the glory for all that goes on here! (1 Cor 10:31, Rev 4:11)
Celebrate Small Wins
Sanctification is a good gift of the Holy Spirit as he causes believers to look more like Jesus. While none of us will reach perfection on this side of eternity, we want to celebrate even the smallest ways in which we see God working in the lives of our church family. (2 Cor 5:17, 1 Thes 5:16-18)
Be Authentic
The message of the Gospel is not “do better”, it is “run to Jesus.” As a result, we don’t have to pretend that we have it all together. We are a church of imperfect people, ready to admit that we are imperfect, but who have been redeemed by a perfect Savior. (Eph 2:8-9)
Live Your Purpose
Christianity is not a spectator sport! The church is meant to be a place where we as believers can find community, understand and grow in our gifting together, and use those gifts through the power of Holy Spirit to impact our church and community. (1 Cor 12:7, 1 Peter 4:10)
Follow His Lead
The Bible is so much more than a book of rules, but it does provide instructions on how to obey God. Our invitation is to understand what God’s Word says and to walk in obedience to His commands, trusting in grace when we fail in that. (2 John 1:6, Matt 4:19)
Give It Away
Everything that we have has been given to us by God and pales in comparison to knowing Him, so we want to be generous with all of it. This means that we are willing and eager to give of our time, money, energy, and abilities out of love for others. (Matt 10:42, 1 Tim 6:17-18)
